Matthew Pearson

I am starting my 26th year of teaching. I was on the opening staff of Saginaw High School in 2005 and am starting my 22nd year at SHS. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University - Commerce (East Texas A&M University) and a B.S. in Music Performance.

Jesse Rajabi

Mr. Rajabi is a student focused teacher who aims to teach young people to be the best people they can be through the power of music. He has been a music educator since 2016, and has been having a blast in EMSISD since 2021!

Jennifer Giba

Jenn Giba is entering her 11th year as Director of Percussion at Saginaw High School where she oversees the percussion programs at Saginaw, Highland Middle school, and Prairie Vista Middle school, runs visual fundamentals for the SOS Marching Band, and assists with the SOS concert bands. Under her direction, the Saginaw percussion program has received multiple awards and accolades at both the individual and group levels, including 1st place HEB Drum Contest 2018, medaling at Indoor Drumline NTCA championships in 2017, 2018, 2019 in Percussion Scholastic A class, medaling at NTCA championships Percussion Scholastic Open class in 2020 and 2025, and medaling at WGI regionals in 2018 for the first time in school history, and again in 2019, 2020, and 2025. In 2025, the Saginaw Indoor Drumline also traveled to Dayton, Ohio to compete in WGI World Championships for the first time and advanced all the way to finals with the show Detention Daydreams, placing 12th in WGI PSO World Championships for the first time in school history, and in 2026 the group also competed in Dayton advanced to Semi-Finals with the show One of Us. The percussion program has a strong history of All-Region percussionists, and one three-time All-State percussionist. Ms. Giba has been selected for the “Teacher of Influence” award at Saginaw 3 times and was awarded an Education Foundation Educator grant in support of the band in 2025. She also teaches various other percussion groups and camps in the DFW area including the TCU Percussion Camp and has presented various percussion clinics in the DFW area. Prior to her position at Saginaw, Ms. Giba served as Assistant Percussion Director at Centennial High School in Frisco, Texas, and marched WGI with ViP during their record-breaking PIO Gold Medalist season in 2016. Ms. Giba received her bachelor’s degree Cum Laude in Music Education from Texas Christian University in 2015 with a concentration in percussion. During her time at TCU, Ms. Giba participated in and performed with many successful ensembles and studied with Dr. Brian West, Dr. Richard Gipson, Dr. Dave Hall, Joey Carter, and many others. When Ms. Giba isn’t teaching band, she enjoys reading, writing, watching YouTube, spending time with friends and family, and focusing on her faith. Ms. Giba is extremely passionate about supporting the students at Saginaw High School and wanted to become a band director because of how much band helped her when she was young.

Joshua Gregory

Drew Jordan

Mr. Jordan is a Texas implant moving here from scenic Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg VA, with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Nutrition. He started his marching arts career in the horn line playing Mellophone before making his way to drum major. Mr. Jordan began his Colorguard performing career with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps Colorguard in 2019 and went on to march with the George Mason World guard in the winter of 2020. He began his teaching career in 2017 and has worked as a director, rifle technician, show designer, and visual consultant for multiple ensembles including marching band show design and indoor drumline choreography. Mr. Jordan is glad to be bringing a wealth of knowledge to the program and is excited to help in every way that he can.
